Mainly, to give the students enough knowledge and ss about horticulture science, to meet well-educated/sed workforce needs of public and private agriculture sector of the country, and to prepare graduates who help the country agriculture sector to increase and improve crop quality and as a result income of farmers and agribusiness through filling the present gap of qualified workforce in horticulture.
Mission
The mission of the Horticulture Department is to establish and disseminate innovative knowledge through student education leading to the improvement and facilitation of cost-effective and profitable production, plant breeding, postharvest handling, and utilization of horticultural commodities and services in a concerted effort to conserve natural resources while protecting and enhancing the environment. The department has also mission of offering high quality education and training, conducting demand driven and problem solving research and consultancy and community service in the area of horticulture.
