Purpose of the Section
The aim of the horticulture program is to train and research the manpower who will work on growing various vegetables and fruits in vineyards and gardens with scientific methods, developing their species, collecting, protecting and marketing the products.
Required Qualifications
Those who want to work in the field of horticultural crops are expected to be successful in basic sciences and especially botany, who enjoy working outdoors, and are interested in research and analysis.
Titles Earned by Graduates and Their Jobs
Those who complete the horticultural program are given the title of "Agricultural Engineer". An agricultural engineer trained in the field of horticultural crops conducts seed breeding studies for the planting time of the horticultural crops, the type of fertilizer to be used, the adaptation of the crops to different climates and soils, plant diseases, the production of horticultural crops such as highly productive and quality fruit trees, vegetables and ornamental plants; develops methods for collecting, storing and marketing horticultural products.
